Qu-Bit Electronix Nebulae v2
Phase-vocoder granular sampler and open DSP platform
20 HP Eurorack module
Nebulae v2 is a stereo granular sampler and open DSP platform from Qu-Bit. Its phase-vocoder engine time-stretches and pitch-shifts audio independently, while a parallel granular processor shreds the same buffer into grains you sculpt with density, overlap and window controls. The Blend knob crossfades the two engines. Source material can be a USB audio file, a live input, or a 5-minute recorded buffer (48kHz/24-bit). Holding Source unlocks a deep secondary-function layer, and holding the Speed encoder loads alternate instruments written in Csound, Pure Data and more.
Features
- Phase-vocoder time-stretch engine: change speed independent of pitch
- Independent pitch shift (-3 to +2 octaves) with 1V/oct tracking
- Granular processor with density, grain size/overlap and 7 window types
- Blend knob morphs between phase-vocoder and granular engines
- 5-minute stereo recording buffer at 48kHz / 24-bit with overdub
- Plays .wav/.flac/.aif files from USB (up to 75MB, no naming convention)
- Live, file, or recorded-buffer source material
- Open DSP platform: load Csound, Pure Data, SuperCollider, shell, C or Python instruments
- Factory alternate instruments: One-Shot Sampler, Synth Voice, World of Echo, Test IO
- Secondary function layer accessed by holding the Source button
- Per-grain randomisation: position, panning, displacement, size, muting and FM
- Circular (continuous) recording mode via Source+Record

How-To Guides
- Load a sample from USB and play it
- Time-stretch a loop without changing pitch
- Build a granular cloud
- Record and mangle live input
- Externally trigger grains rhythmically
- Load an alternate instrument (e.g. reverb)
