Robots Are Red Sump Pump
Stereo gate, noise suppressor, compressor, and expander.
6 HP Eurorack module
A stereo dynamics processor that uses envelope detection and an adjustable attack/release envelope for gating, suppression, compression, expansion, and unconventional level shaping.
Features
- Envelope-controlled stereo dynamics with adjustable Attack and Release.
- Threshold spans approximately 0 V to 8 V.
- Floor ranges from extreme suppression through unity to gain expansion up to approximately +10 dB.
- Level provides overall output adjustment and makeup gain.
- Stereo input and output with left-input envelope detection and mono sidechain operation.
- Engage accepts a gate for manual envelope activation.
- Dedicated CV inputs offset the Threshold and Floor knob settings.
- Duck derives an inverted level-control envelope from pulses, triggers, audio, envelopes, or other modulation signals.
- ENV OUT provides the full-voltage envelope independently of the Floor setting.
Controls & Jacks (15)
- IN-L— Left audio input; it also feeds the envelope follower that controls the stereo dynamics response.
- Engage— Gate input that manually engages the attack/release envelope.
- Floor CV— Control-voltage input that offsets the Floor knob setting.
- Floor— Sets the engaged gain from approximately -100 dB through unity to +10 dB, enabling suppression or expansion.
- Threshold CV— Control-voltage input that offsets the Threshold knob setting.
- ENV OUT— Outputs the full-voltage attack/release envelope independently of the Floor setting.
- Level— Sets the overall output level and can provide makeup gain.
- Threshold— Sets the detection threshold from approximately 0 V to 8 V; Gate mode responds below it and Comp mode responds above it.
- Attack— Sets the rise time of the dynamics-control envelope after it is engaged.
- Release— Sets the fall time of the dynamics-control envelope after it is released.
- IN-R— Right audio input; use this input for the mono program signal when IN-L is serving as a sidechain input.
- OUT-L— Processed left-channel audio output.
- OUT-R— Processed right-channel audio output.
- Gate/Comp— Selects Gate mode, in which the envelope engages when the input falls below the threshold, or Comp mode, in which it engages when the input
- Duck— Envelope-follower input that applies an inverted envelope to the signal level for ducking; it accepts pulses, triggers, audio, envelopes, an
