RYK Modular Algo
Four-operator FM powerhouse with nine algorithms and stereo output
18 HP Eurorack module
Algo is a quad complex oscillator bank from RYK Modular capable of deep algorithmic FM synthesis. Four sine-based oscillators can be routed in nine different series and parallel configurations, producing rich sideband harmonics, inharmonic bell tones, lush additive textures, and everything in between. Wave Warp, Wave Folding, stereo panning, chorus, and per-oscillator modulation inputs make it a complete FM voice in a single 18HP module.
Features
- Four independent sine-based oscillators with per-oscillator frequency and level control
- Nine FM algorithms routing oscillators as modulators or carriers in series and parallel combinations
- Visual algorithm display using Red LEDs to show signal flow

- Fine tuning mode for non-integer inharmonic frequencies
- Fixed frequency mode per oscillator (ignores V/OCT)
- Global Cross Modulation (XM) knob and CV input (-5V to +8V)
- Wave Warp: sine to triangle, sawtooth, and pulse waveform morphing with Modulator / Carrier / ALL destination selection
- Three Wave Fold types applied to carriers: Symmetric, Asymmetric, Soft Clip
- Global Detune/Chorus knob with per-oscillator frequency spreading
- Onboard stereo chorus with adjustable speed
- Stereo output with per-oscillator panning via Level knob + RANGE hold
Controls & Jacks (25)
- Out — Stereo audio output. Accepts stereo (TRS) or mono (TS) jack, automatically detected
- FM/DT/Sync — CV input (-5V to 5V) for frequency modulation (FM), detune modulation (DT), or phase reset sync. Toggle mode by pushing button while inserti
- M2 — Modulation input (0V to 8V) for oscillator 1 level, or can be toggled to FM/V-Oct input. Push button while inserting to toggle
- Oscillator 2 Frequency — Bends oscillators from sine through triangle, sawtooth to pulse wave. Can be applied to modulator, carrier or both oscillator types
- XM CV In — Cross modulation amount CV input (-5V to +8V) that controls global XM amount in addition to XM knob
- M3 — Modulation input (0V to 8V) for oscillator 3 level, or can be toggled to FM/V-Oct input. Push button while inserting to toggle
- Range — Cycles through five octave ranges of the Algo module
- V/Oct — Pitch CV input (0V-6V) that all oscillator frequencies are multiples of unless set to FIXED mode
- M1 — Modulation input (0V to 8V) for oscillator 2 level, or can be toggled to FM/V-Oct input. Push button while inserting to toggle
- Oscillator 4 Frequency — Creates multiple harmonics by folding wave peaks inward. Three types: symmetric, asymmetric, soft clip. Applied to carrier oscillators only
- Oscillator 1 Frequency — Scans through 18 harmonics (0.5 to 18). Push and hold Range button for fine control or FIXED mode
- M4 — Modulation input (0V to 8V) for oscillator 4 level, FM/V-Oct input, or global VCA. Push button while inserting to toggle between modes
- Fold CV — CV input (0V to 5V) that controls wave fold amount. Knob acts as attenuator when jack is inserted
- Oscillator 3 Frequency — Scans through 18 harmonics (0.5 to 18). Push and hold Range button for fine control or FIXED mode
- Warp CV — CV input (0V to 5V) that controls wave warp amount. Knob acts as attenuator when jack is inserted
