The RYK Vector Wave is a 16-oscillator FM and harmonic synthesiser voice built around four banks of four sine wave oscillators (Banks A, B, C, D) that can be mixed via a joystick or animated vector positions for evolving timbral crossfades. It supports monophonic vector synthesis, four-voice polyphony, and multitimbral operation, with extensive modulation routing, wave folding, wave warping, and both CV and MIDI control.

- 16 sine wave oscillators divided into four banks of four (Banks A, B, C, D)
- FM cross-modulation (XM) with series and parallel modulator configurations within each bank
- Vector synthesis via physical joystick crossfading four oscillator banks
- VEC1 recorded joystick path animation with trigger and continuous playback
- VEC2 four-cell stored vector position animation with individual transition times
- Four voice polyphony (POLY mode) duplicating Bank A settings
- Multitimbral mode (MULT) with each bank as an independent voice
- Two ADSR envelopes: ENV1 for amplitude, ENV2 for FM cross-modulation amount
- ENV settings can be global or per-bank independent
- Two LFOs with waveforms: Sine, Triangle, Saw, Ramp, Square, Random, Noise
- LFOs can be free-running or reset from Gate, M1, M2, M3, M4 triggers
- 6 modulation slots with attenuverter and offset for any source to any destination

- Encoder 1 — Push-encoder. Controls OSC 1 frequency (turn) and FM algorithm (push) on Oscillator page. Function changes with active page.
- Encoder 2 — Push-encoder. Controls OSC 2 frequency (turn) and FM algorithm (push) on Oscillator page. Function changes with active page.
- Encoder 3 — Push-encoder. Controls OSC 3 frequency (turn) and FM algorithm (push) on Oscillator page. Function changes with active page.
- Encoder 4 — Push-encoder. Controls OSC 4 frequency (turn) and FM algorithm (push) on Oscillator page. Function changes with active page.
- Display — LED dot-matrix display showing oscillator frequencies, waveforms, envelope shapes, modulation routings, and menu settings. Content changes b
- Bank A — Indicates Bank A is selected (lit when active).
- Bank B — Indicates Bank B is selected (lit when active).
- Bank C — Indicates Bank C is selected (lit when active).
- Bank D — Indicates Bank D is selected (lit when active).
- Encoder 5 — Push-encoder. Controls OSC 1 level on Oscillator page, Vector X on Vector page, or menu item selection on Menu page.
- Encoder 6 — Push-encoder. Controls OSC 2 level on Oscillator page, Vector Y on Vector page, or menu value on Menu page.
- Encoder 7 — Push-encoder. Controls OSC 3 level on Oscillator page. Also used for Wave Warp and other quick-access parameters.
- Encoder 8 — Push-encoder. Controls OSC 4 level on Oscillator page. Also used for Wave Fold and other quick-access parameters.
- VECTOR/Q/MENU — Cycles through Vector page (joystick vector mixing), Quick Controls page (performance parameters), and Settings Menu. Grey button.
- Bank Select — Selects and cycles through oscillator banks A, B, C, D. Hold to access bank copy/paste. Red button with A/B/C/D LEDs.
- MOD — Accesses the 6 modulation slots. Repeated presses cycle through slots 1-6. Each slot has source, destination, attenuverter, and offset. Blue
- ENV/LFO — Cycles through ENV1, ENV2, LFO1, LFO2 pages for editing envelope and LFO parameters. Blue button.
- Joystick — 2-axis vector mixing joystick. X-axis and Y-axis control the mix between oscillator banks A/B/C/D. Can record vector movements for playback
- V/OCT — 1V/Oct pitch CV input (0-6V). Controls pitch of all oscillator banks.
- GATE — Gate input. Triggers envelopes ENV1 and ENV2, and can trigger vector playback.
- OUT L — Left audio output. Bank panning is set in the Settings Menu.
- OUT R — Right audio output. Bank panning is set in the Settings Menu.
- M1 — CV modulation input 1 (+/-5V). Assignable to any modulation destination via the MOD page.
- M2 — CV modulation input 2 (+/-5V). Assignable to any modulation destination via the MOD page.
- M3 — CV modulation input 3 (+/-5V). Assignable to any modulation destination via the MOD page.
- M4 — CV modulation input 4 (+/-5V). Assignable to any modulation destination via the MOD page.
- MIDI IN — TRS MIDI input. Can replace V/OCT and GATE for pitch/gate control. Supports velocity, aftertouch, and MIDI CC as modulation sources.
