SoundForce Samples II
5-channel USB sample player with ultra-low latency
4 HP Eurorack module
Samples II is a 5-channel USB sample player module in 4HP that streams and plays back wave files directly from a USB memory stick, offering virtually unlimited sample storage. It is designed with ultra-low 0.15ms latency for tight rhythmic playback, features multiple creative playback modes beyond standard drum triggering, and includes a built-in wave file auto-converter for format flexibility.
Features
- 5-channel USB sample player streaming directly from USB memory stick
- 4HP compact form factor
- Ultra-low 0.15ms trigger-to-playback latency via triple memory buffering
- Trigger/gate inputs per channel (0-5V typical, up to 12V tolerated)
- Built-in wave file auto-converter: any bitrate/sample rate converted to 16bit/44.1kHz
- FIR + linear interpolation sample rate conversion
- Supports wave files of 1 hour or longer via streaming
- Analog mix output: unpatched channels 1-4 summed into output 5
- 8 attenuation levels (0dB to -30dB) per channel for mix balancing
- Multiple playback modes: rewind, rewind_fade, loop_reset, toggle_pause, gate_pause, multi_sample, multi_sample_linear
- Stereo playback on output pairs 1/2 and 3/4 (settings file enabled)
- Playback speed modulation via LFO on inputs 2 (for ch1) and 4 (for ch3)
Controls & Jacks (11)
- Audio Output 2— Mono audio output for Channel 2 or right channel of stereo pair (1/2). Unpatched outputs are mixed to Output 5.
- Trigger Input 2— Trigger/gate input for Channel 2 (0-5V, tolerates up to 12V). Can also modulate playback speed of Channel 1 if playback speed modulation is
- Audio Output 3— Mono audio output for Channel 3. Can be part of stereo pair (3/4) if stereo playback is enabled. Unpatched outputs are mixed to Output 5.
- Trigger Input 3— Trigger/gate input for Channel 3 (0-5V, tolerates up to 12V). Rewinds and starts playback on rising edge for rewind mode.
- Trigger Input 5— Trigger/gate input for Channel 5 (0-5V, tolerates up to 12V). Rewinds and starts playback on rising edge for rewind mode.
- Audio Output 4— Mono audio output for Channel 4 or right channel of stereo pair (3/4). Unpatched outputs are mixed to Output 5.
- Audio Output 1— Mono audio output for Channel 1. Can be part of stereo pair (1/2) if stereo playback is enabled. Unpatched outputs are mixed to Output 5.
- Trigger Input 4— Trigger/gate input for Channel 4 (0-5V, tolerates up to 12V). Can also modulate playback speed of Channel 3 if playback speed modulation is
- Trigger Input 1— Trigger/gate input for Channel 1 (0-5V, tolerates up to 12V). Rewinds and starts playback on rising edge for rewind mode.
- Mix Output 5— Mixed mono output combining all unpatched channels (1-4) and Channel 5. Provides a convenient master mix when individual outputs are not all
- Tactile— Scrolls through folders/directories and sample sets on the USB memory stick. Press and hold for 1+ second to enter attenuation/mixing mode.
