Strymon AA.1
Bridge guitars and pedals to your Eurorack world
4 HP Eurorack module
The Strymon AA.1 is a 4hp bidirectional level converter for bridging external audio gear and Eurorack modular systems. The top section (+18 dB) takes a stereo line-level or guitar-level signal via a 1/4" TRS input and boosts it to Eurorack levels on two 3.5mm outputs. The bottom section (-18 dB) takes two Eurorack-level 3.5mm inputs and attenuates them to line/guitar levels on two 1/4" outputs. All gain stages are fixed — there are no knobs, buttons, or adjustable controls. The module is purely passive-style signal conditioning with no digital processing.
Features
- Amplifier section with +18dB gain for boosting guitar/pedal signals to Eurorack levels
- Attenuator section with -18dB gain for bringing Eurorack signals down to guitar/pedal levels
- Amplifier input impedance of 1 MOhm — guitar friendly, high-impedance input
- Attenuator input impedance of 8 kOhm — suited for Eurorack signal sources
- Amplifier max output of 18 Vpp for full Eurorack compatibility
- Attenuator max output of 2.5 Vpp nominal for pedal/amp compatibility
- Soft clipping on amplifier input (before clipping threshold: 2.25 Vpp)
- Flat frequency response 20Hz to 20kHz, +/-1dB on both sections
- Independent input level trimmers for both Amplifier and Attenuator sections
- Compact 4hp Eurorack format
- Enables Eurorack insert loops using guitar pedals
- Supports mono guitar and stereo configurations
