The E340 Cloud Generator is a dual-output VCO that internally runs 8 oscillators simultaneously, detuned and modulated by bandpass-filtered noise to create dense, evolving textures. Its musical character ranges from classic '80s Super Saw unison leads to swarming, chaotic clouds of pitch, making it ideal for lush pads, drones, and organic noise-scapes.

- 8 internal VCOs summed to two outputs
- Dual outputs: SAW and SINE simultaneously
- SPREAD control exponentially detunes VCOs above and below central pitch
- CHAOS applies individual bandpass-filtered noise FM to each VCO
- CHAOS BW sets noise filter bandwidth in 6 steps (narrow to wide)
- DENSITY switch selects 2, 4, or 8 active VCOs with automatic amplitude compensation
- Hard sync input resets all VCOs on positive edge above +0.25V
- CV inputs for SPREAD, CHAOS, CHAOS BW, FM, and 1V/OCT
- Compatible with both MOTM (+/-15V) and Eurorack (+/-12V) power
- Blue multi-turn trim pot on PCB for precise 1V/OCT calibration
- FM knob acts as attenuator for external FM CV
- Inputs accept -5V to +5V, DC to 8kHz; outputs -5V to +5V, DC to 10kHz
Controls & Jacks (15)
- Coarse Frequency — Sets the fundamental pitch of all VCOs across 8 octaves.
- Sawtooth Out — Sawtooth wave output of the VCOs.
- Fine Frequency — Fine-tunes the fundamental pitch across approximately 0.5 octaves.
- FM Amount — Attenuator for the CV signal plugged into the FM input jack. Modulates VCO pitch.
- 1V/Oct CV Input — Sets the fundamental pitch of all VCOs when Spread is at minimum.
- Chaos Amount — Adds filtered noise to the spread effect, causing each VCO to wiggle in a different manner and adding fatness to the spectrum.
- Sync Input — Hard sync input. Positive voltage exceeding +0.25V resets VCO outputs.
- Chaos Bandwidth CV — Control voltage for chaos bandwidth.
- Spread Amount — Exponential control that detunes the VCOs about the central frequency. Some VCOs increase in pitch while others decrease. Detuning starts ve
- Sine Out — Sine wave output of the VCOs.
- FM CV Input — Modulates the VCO fundamental pitch.
- Chaos CV Input — Control voltage for chaos amount.
- Spread CV — Control voltage for spread parameter.
- Chaos Bandwidth — Changes the bandwidth of the filtered noise from narrow to wide in 6 steps. Wider bandwidth makes the wiggles faster.
- Density — Selects the number of VCOs used: 2, 4, or 8. Amplitude automatically decreases with more VCOs to prevent clipping when VCOs align.
