Tiptop Audio Octopus

The Tiptop Audio Octopus is an 8-channel MIDI-to-CV/trigger converter designed as part of the ART (Analog Real-Time) system. It receives MIDI via both USB and 5-pin DIN inputs and converts note, velocity, and clock data into analog CV and trigger outputs. The module provides 8 ART outputs (V/Oct pitch CV with integrated gate), 8 velocity CV outputs, 8 drum trigger outputs, plus clock and reset outputs. Multiple operating modes include MONO 8 (8 mono voices on one channel), polyphonic voice allocation, and drum trigger mode (MIDI channel 10). An OLED display and rotary encoder provide menu-based configuration. Auto-tune calibration optimizes V/Oct tracking for connected ART oscillators. The module bridges the MIDI and modular worlds, enabling DAW-controlled polyphonic patches and drum sequencing.
