After Later Audio Typhoon
Eight-mode granular Swiss army knife for audio mangling
16 HP Eurorack module
Typhoon is a Eurorack module by After Later Audio running the Superparasites firmware, a port of Mutable Instruments Clouds with additional alternate modes. It is a granular audio processor, pitch shifter, looping delay, spectral processor, reverb, resonator, beat repeater, and spectral filter all in one, capable of radically transforming audio sources into lush textures, rhythmic stutter effects, shimmering reverbs, and spectral soundscapes.
Features
- Eight distinct processing modes selectable via LED mode switching
- Granular synthesis with up to 40-60 concurrent grains
- Pitch shifting using period-synchronized overlapping grains with deglitching
- Looping delay with scrubbing and vinyl-scratch modulation
- FFT-based spectral processing with buffer interpolation
- Creative reverb based on Lexicon 480L with pitch shifting and self-oscillation
- Karplus-Strong plucked string synthesis with 18 chord voicings
- Clock-synchronized beat repeat and slice manipulation
- High-resolution multiband spectral filter with up to 128 logarithmic bands
- CV control over Position, Density, Size, Pitch, and Feedback
- Freeze function halts audio recording for looping and texture freezing
- Trigger input for grain triggering, voice switching, clock sync, and spectral glitching
