BANDERSNATCH is a 16HP Eurorack module combining a DSP-based Through-Zero FM oscillator (digital section) with a dual-channel analog wave shaper featuring drive and wavefolding. The digital section offers FM, PM, feedback, wavetable, bit-crushing, and LFO modes, while the analog section delivers everything from clean compression and overdrive to Serge/Buchla-style harmonic folding, all cascadable into a single semi-modular voice with one external sequencer.

- Through-Zero FM (TZFM) digital oscillator using DSP chip
- FM, PM, and Feedback modulation with linear control analogous to Yamaha DX7
- Feedback slider morphs from pure sine to near-sawtooth noise spectrum
- Wavetable mode accepts audio input for vocoder/voice-changer-style formant processing
- BIT CLUSH mode: bit-crushing applied only when PM CV crosses into negative voltage
- LFO mode with ultra-slow speed capability (Sloth-style) controlled by FM knob
- Hard SYNC in and out for oscillator synchronization
- 1V/Oct input with calibration trimmer on rear panel
- FM+PM OUT (main) and FM OUT (FM-only, for tuner or calibration use)
- ANALOG DRIVE channel with switchable DIST and OD circuits and compression threshold
- ANALOG FOLD channel with five-stage wavefolder inspired by Serge and Buchla designs
- FOLD TYPE switch: asymmetric, symmetric, and NON (single fold + overdrive) modes

- FM Out — FM oscillation output unaffected by phase modulation; suitable for tuner out or auto-tune functions
- FM+PM Out — Main DIGITAL section output carrying oscillation affected by both FM and PM
- 1V/Oct Input — 1V per octave pitch control input for melodic sequencing
- PM CV Input — Phase modulation control voltage input; also bit-crusher input when BIT CLUSH enabled
- DRIVE Out — Direct output from DRIVE channel; requires DRVch ON and DRIVE PHASE not centered
- EXT In — External audio input to ANALOG section; auto-switches with DIP4 when no jack inserted
- Blend Out — Crossfaded mix of DRIVE and FOLD channel outputs; controlled by Blend slider or expander
- FM CV Input — Frequency modulation control voltage input
- SYNC In — Hard sync input from master oscillator or external VCO
- FB/WT Input — Feedback CV input when WAVETABLE off; audio signal input for wavetable/vocoder when WAVETABLE on
- SYNC Out — Hard sync output for slaving external VCOs
- SHAPE CV Input — Control-voltage or gate input for SHAPE gain.
- SYMMETRY CV Input — Control-voltage input for the SYMMETRY slider.
- FOLD Out — Direct output from FOLD channel
- Fine — Precise fine-tuning of the FM operator oscillator pitch
- SYMMETRY — Bipolar slider controlling waveform voltage offset and symmetry.
- Coarse — Wide-range pitch adjustment for the FM operator oscillator
- Feedback — Linear feedback control for FM operator oscillation, enabling harmonic complexity from pure sine waves to broad-band spectrum
- BLEND Trimmer — Recessed trimmer controlling the DRIVE/FOLD crossfade when no expander is connected.
- FM — Attenuator for FM CV input; applies frequency modulation to the oscillator. When LFO is on, controls modulation depth
- PM — Attenuator for PM CV input; applies phase modulation to the operator. When BIT CLUSH is on, functions as bit crusher control
- DRIVE PHASE — Three-position switch selecting in-phase, off, or inverted DRIVE-channel output.
- SHAPE — Front-end gain slider for the analog section input.
- SHAPE CV — Diagonal slider attenuating CV or gate applied to SHAPE.
- FOLD TYPE — Three-position switch selecting asymmetric folding, symmetric folding, or NON center overdrive.
- LFO — DIP switch enabling ultra-low-speed LFO mode with the FM knob controlling modulation depth.
- BIT CLUSH — DIP switch enabling the manual-documented linear bit-clushing mode for the PM input.
- WAVETABLE — DIP switch enabling wavetable mode for audio-rate input through FB/WT.
- INTERNAL — DIP switch routing the DIGITAL section internally into the ANALOG section.
- DIST — DIP switch enabling the DRIVE channel distortion circuit; combine with OD for alternate harmonic characters.
- OD — DIP switch enabling the DRIVE channel overdrive circuit; combine with DIST for alternate harmonic characters.
- DRV ch — DIP switch selecting the processed DRIVE-channel signal.
- AUX IN — DIP switch selecting the dry or auxiliary input signal for the DRIVE channel.
- Folding Compression Threshold — Three-position switch selecting pp compression, stronger ff compression, or center-off operation.
