Venus Instruments Veno-Orbit

Experimental Eurorack sampling and looping for audio and CV.

22 HP Eurorack module

Veno-Orbit is a dual-channel polyphonic Eurorack sampler for live recording, looping, and manipulation of audio and CV. It supports layered looping, polyphonic one-shots, varispeed playback, clocked slicing, MIDI performance, modulation recording, and microSD preset storage.

Features

  • Dual-channel sampling, looping, and manipulation of audio and control voltage.
  • Two channels with four sample layers per channel and optional stereo linking.
  • Four-voice polyphonic one-shot playback from any layer.
  • Records and plays modulation, envelopes, and pitch sequences as well as audio.
  • Start, length, layer, and 1 V/octave CV control, transport gate inputs, and per-channel end-of-cycle outputs.
  • External-clock quantization trims loops to whole clock periods and snaps loop markers to a clock-defined grid.
  • microSD storage provides 64 presets across eight banks.
  • 48 kHz, 24-bit conversion with 32-bit DSP; saved samples use 16-bit WAV format.
  • Transient-detect recording can arm a channel and begin capture at the next detected transient.
  • In modulation operation, the attack and release controls become independent rise and fall slew limiters.

  • Overdub Decay— Sets overdub feedback gain and therefore how quickly new material replaces existing audio; clockwise preserves the previous recording and co
  • Channel 2 Length— Sets channel 2's playback or loop duration; the loop is cropped if it would extend beyond the sample.
  • Channel 1 Start— Sets channel 1's sample start position or loop point as a proportion of each layer's total sample length.
  • Channel 1 Length— Sets channel 1's playback or loop duration; the loop is cropped if it would extend beyond the sample.
  • Channel 1 Reverse— Toggles channel 1 between forward and reverse playback; reverse playback starts and resets at the end marker.
  • Crossfade Length— Sets loop crossfade duration for both channels; its range and whether the fade begins before or after the end marker depend on clock connect
  • Channel 2 Speed— Sets channel 2 playback speed continuously from 0.25× to 2×, with marked 0.25×, 0.5×, 1×, and 2× positions.
  • OUT 1— DC-coupled audio or modulation output for channel 1.

  • Channel 1 Layer CV— Adds control voltage to channel 1's record/playback layer selection.
  • Channel 1 V/Oct— Accurate 1 V/octave playback-pitch input for channel 1, multiplied by the Speed setting over a range of approximately ±5 octaves.
  • MIDI Input— TRS Type A MIDI input for chromatic pitch, note triggering, note-off release, velocity, layer selection, and four-note polyphonic playback.
  • Channel 1 Play Gate— Gate input that triggers playback for channel 1 according to its selected play mode.
