Weston Precision Audio Trivium

Analog multifunction Eurorack module

12 HP Eurorack module

Trivium is a compact analog voice and signal-processing module combining a state-variable VCF, VCA, ADSR envelope, AD/AR envelope, and routing for envelope assignment and selectable VCA/filter order.

Features

  • Combines the core functions needed to turn an external signal source into a versatile modular voice.
  • Includes a discrete OTA state-variable VCF, VCA, ADSR envelope, AD/AR envelope, and flexible routing.
  • Covers clean, warm filtering through overdriven and distorted tones.
  • Can also serve as a percussion voice or modulation source.
  • Both envelopes have dedicated outputs and can be patched externally or fed back into Trivium.
  • The filter self-oscillates at high resonance settings.
  • The power input is internally rectified, so either ribbon-cable polarity is acceptable.

Controls & Jacks (31)

  • VCA Gain— Sets the VCA gain, ranging from attenuation through clean amplification into overdrive.
  • Filter Resonance— Sets the filter resonance; high settings drive the filter into self-oscillation.
  • Filter Resonance CV Input— Filter resonance control-voltage input summed with the Resonance knob.
  • ADSR Sustain— Sets the sustain level of the ADSR envelope while the gate remains high.
  • ADSR Release— Sets the ADSR envelope's release time from approximately 2 ms to 7 seconds; the associated CV input is summed with this setting.
  • Filter Cutoff— Sets the state-variable filter's cutoff frequency and is summed with the Cutoff CV input.
  • ADSR Decay— Sets the ADSR envelope's decay time; the associated CV input is summed with this setting.
  • Filter Cutoff CV Input— Filter cutoff-frequency control-voltage input summed with the Cutoff knob.
  • AD/AR Attack CV Input— Control-voltage input summed with the AD/AR Attack knob; positive voltage lengthens attack and negative voltage shortens it.
  • AD/AR Decay/Release— Sets the AD/AR envelope's decay or release time from approximately 2 ms to 7 seconds, according to the selected mode.
  • ADSR Attack— Sets the ADSR envelope's attack time from approximately 1 ms to 7 seconds.
  • ADSR Envelope Output— Outputs the approximately 8 V ADSR envelope for use inside or outside Trivium.
  • Filter Envelope Amount— Attenuverts the selected filter-envelope signal: center gives zero modulation, clockwise applies positive modulation, and counterclockwise a
  • AD/AR Attack— Sets the AD/AR envelope's slightly convex, pseudo-exponential attack time from approximately 1 ms to 7 seconds.
  • AD/AR Decay/Release CV Input— Control-voltage input summed with the AD/AR Decay/Release knob; positive voltage lengthens the selected stage and negative voltage shortens
  • AD/AR Envelope Output— Outputs the approximately 8 V AD/AR envelope in the mode selected by the AD/AR Mode button.
  • ADSR Decay CV Input— Control-voltage input summed with the ADSR Decay knob; positive voltage lengthens decay and negative voltage shortens it.
  • ADSR Release CV Input— Control-voltage input summed with the ADSR Release knob; positive voltage lengthens release and negative voltage shortens it.
  • Audio Input— AC-coupled audio input feeding the module's internally routed VCA and filter signal path.
  • Gate Input— Gate input that triggers both the ADSR and AD/AR envelopes; voltages above approximately 1.5 V are high.
  • Audio Output— Outputs the processed audio after the selected VCA/filter order and filter response.
  • VCA Envelope CV Input— Modulates the level of the selected envelope or HOLD voltage before that control signal reaches the VCA.
  • AD/AR Release Indicator— LED beside the Release label in the AD/AR envelope section.
  • VCA Envelope Source— Routes the ADSR envelope, the AD/AR envelope, or a constant 8 V HOLD level toward the VCA through the VCA Envelope CV modulation stage.
  • AD/AR Decay/Release Mode— Selects decay behavior, in which the envelope falls immediately after reaching its peak, or release behavior, in which it remains high until
  • Filter Envelope Source— Selects either the ADSR or AD/AR envelope as the filter modulation source sent through the Filter Envelope Amount attenuverter.
  • ADSR Envelope Indicator— LED beside the ADSR envelope symbol.
  • AD/AR Envelope Indicator— LED beside the AD/AR envelope symbol.
  • Pre/Post Routing— Selects whether the VCA precedes the filter in PRE mode or follows it in POST mode; PRE can drive and saturate the filter, while POST can bo
  • Filter Response— Selects the low-pass, band-pass, or high-pass output of the state-variable filter.
  • AD/AR Decay Indicator— LED beside the Decay label in the AD/AR envelope section.
