SoundStage is a stereo spectral mixer for Eurorack that automatically places voices in both the stereo field and frequency spectrum based on their physical input position on the panel. It combines 21 inputs, 20 resonant analogue filters across five frequency bands, fixed positional panning, and a voltage-controllable output stage to deliver a naturally mixed stereo image straight from the patch. Its musical character is organic and mix-ready, inspired by professional sound engineering techniques and the voice filters of the E-Mu SP1200.
Features
- 21 audio inputs across five frequency band rows: High, High Mid, Mid, Low Mid, Low
- 20 resonant analogue filters: stereo HPF pair and stereo LPF pair per frequency band row
- Fixed positional panning determined by left-to-right input position on panel
- No hard panning — all inputs placed slightly between speakers for natural soundscape
- Upper rows (High) have widest panning; lower rows (Low) are panned more centrally
- Equal power panning to maintain consistent apparent level across stereo field
- Five frequency band rows: High (cymbals), High Mid (lead), Mid (pads), Low Mid (bassline), Low (kick)
- Mid to High rows have five inputs each; Low Mid and Low rows have three inputs each
- Filter Depth control blends between unfiltered (CCW) and filtered (CW) signals via VCAs
- Filter Depth CV input with attenuverting control for voltage-controlled spectral depth
- Output Level control is bias control of stereo VCA for master level trim
- Level CV input with attenuverting control for voltage-controlled output level

- Depth Attenuverter — Attenuverting control for the Depth CV input, scales and optionally inverts incoming CV
- Level Attenuverter — Attenuverting control for the Level CV input, scales and optionally inverts incoming CV
- Left Output — Stereo left channel audio output
- Right Output — Stereo right channel audio output
- Depth CV Input — Control voltage input for filter depth with attenuverter
- Level CV Input — Control voltage input for output level with attenuverter
- Depth — Controls filter depth from unfiltered (fully CCW) to fully filtered (fully CW)
- Level — Controls the master stereo output level via a logarithmic VCA
