XAOC Devices Hrad
Master section, monitoring and AUX expander for the XAOC Praga mixer
10 HP Eurorack module
Hrad is a 10 HP expander for the XAOC Devices Praga four-channel stereo mixer. It grafts a full master section onto Praga: a stereo main-level attenuator with 12 dB of extra headroom, a five-bar stereo LED meter, and a stereo sum output switchable between Eurorack and studio line level. It adds independent headphone monitoring with a soloable cue input, four gate inputs for remote channel muting, CV control and insert points over Praga's four AUX sends, and two attenuators for Praga's AUX return pairs. Hrad draws its power from Praga through two ribbon cables and has no power connector of its own.

Controls & Jacks (22)
- Aux CV 4 — CV input controlling the AUX send level of Praga channel 4. Internally normalized to 8 V.
- Active 4 — Gate input that remotely mutes/unmutes Praga's channel 4. Gate-on activates; gate-off mutes clicklessly.
- Aux Ins 4 — Insert input for Praga channel 4's AUX send. A patched signal replaces the direct channel signal before Praga's A/B send knob.
- Aux CV 1 — CV input controlling the AUX send level of Praga channel 1. Internally normalized to 8 V.
- Phones Level — Sets the headphone output volume independently of the main level attenuator, so you can monitor the mix at a different loudness than the aud
- Aux CV 3 — CV input controlling the AUX send level of Praga channel 3. Internally normalized to 8 V.
- Active 1 — Gate input that remotely mutes/unmutes Praga's channel 1. Gate-on (~+2.4 V or more) activates the channel; gate-off (0 V) mutes it clickless
- Aux Ins 1 — Insert input for Praga channel 1's AUX send. A patched signal replaces the direct channel signal before Praga's A/B send knob, enabling pre-
- Cue Input — Mono, center-panned input auditioned in the headphones with or without the main mix. Its amplitude is attenuated for comfortable listening.
- Phones Output — Stereo headphone output driven by a dual OPA2134 per channel. Recommended headphone impedance 80-300 ohm.
- Main Level — Stereo attenuator over the sum signal at Hrad's main output, without affecting Praga's own stereo sum. Provides an extra 12 dB of headroom.
- Aux Ins 3 — Insert input for Praga channel 3's AUX send. A patched signal replaces the direct channel signal before Praga's A/B send knob.
- Main Output R — Right channel of the stereo sum output, switchable between Eurorack (+20 dBu) and studio line (+4 dBu) level via rear jumpers.
- Aux Ins 2 — Insert input for Praga channel 2's AUX send. A patched signal replaces the direct channel signal before Praga's A/B send knob.
- Aux CV 2 — CV input controlling the AUX send level of Praga channel 2. Internally normalized to 8 V.
- Active 3 — Gate input that remotely mutes/unmutes Praga's channel 3. Gate-on activates; gate-off mutes clicklessly.
- Main Output L — Left channel of the stereo sum output, switchable between Eurorack (+20 dBu) and studio line (+4 dBu) level via rear jumpers.
- Aux Ret A — Attenuates the signal plugged into Praga's AUX return pair A before it reaches the stereo summing bus. Doubles as an extra stereo input leve
- Active 2 — Gate input that remotely mutes/unmutes Praga's channel 2. Gate-on activates; gate-off mutes clicklessly.
- Aux Ret B — Attenuates the signal plugged into Praga's AUX return pair B before it reaches the stereo summing bus. Doubles as an extra stereo input leve
- Cue Solo — Selects whether the cue input is auditioned alongside the main mix or soloed on its own in the headphones.
- Level Indicator — Five-bar stereo LED meter showing the final signal level at the main output.
How-To Guides
- Add a metered master output
- Pre-listen a source before mixing it in
- Dynamically CV the reverb send
- Pre-fader effect on one channel
- Sequence channel mutes with gates
- Add an extra stereo input
